The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has laid down the following baseline for water fixtures in buildings looking for the LEED certification with a purpose to ‘Maximize water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply & waste water systems’.
• |
If strategies are employed that in aggregate use 20% less water than the water use baseline calculated for the building (not including irrigation) after meeting the fixture performance requirements given below, the project earns 1 credit point (under credit 4.1) |
• |
If strategies are employed that in aggregate use 30% less water than the water use baseline calculated for the building (not including irrigation) after meeting the fixture performance requirements given below, the project earns 2 credit points (under credit 4.2) |

By using GreenSense Faucets you can reduce the flow rate to less than 1 GPM (Gallons per minute) at 80 psi which represents 60% reduction in water consumption. This will enable you to reduce the aggregate water consumption by 30% in your buildings and help your project earn the 2 credit points under Credit 4.2 (Water Efficiency Category)
